Minister says Government is fine-tuning controversial Budget measures
The Minister for Foreign Affairs has said that the Government is in the process of fine tuning some of the controversial measures announced in the Budget.
Micheál Martin was speaking after another day of political uncertainty for the coalition.
The Labour Party has said it is making plans for a general election in the event of the Government falling.
A Green party councillor from Mullingar also announced her resignation earlier today.
Betty Doran is following in the footsteps of two PD councillors in Galway who stepped down, Fianna Fáil TD Joe Behan, who resigned from the party, and independent TD Finian McGrath, who withdrew his support for the Government in protest over the Budget.
But Minister Martin said the Government is addressing the situation, learning from the lessons and responding to the issues.
