Murder inquiry launched after death of man in North

Police in the North have formally launched a murder investigation following the death of a farmer in Co Armagh earlier this week.

The 45-year-old victim, who has been named locally as Victor Stewart, was found dead at his home in the border town of Middletown on Wednesday.

The PSNI was initially treating the death as suspicious, but upgraded the investigation to a murder inquiry after receiving the results of a post mortem last night.

The cause of Mr Stewart's death hasn't been disclosed.

Detectives are appealing for information from the public, particularly anyone who was with Mr Stewart in the days before his death.
