Tánaiste: Budget is 'balanced and decisive'

The Tánaiste Mary Coughlan has endorsed the 2009 Budget as a balanced and decisive response to the downturn in the global economy.

The Tánaiste said: "The events which we have witnessed over the last few weeks on the international money markets have been characterised by a loss of confidence in financial systems.
