Tutty given energy role

Michael Tutty was today appointed as the new chairperson of the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER).

Commenting on the appointment, Energy Minister Eamon Ryan said: "The CER will face an extremely challenging work plan over the coming years as they work with the department and with industry to deliver a sustainable and competitive future for our energy sector.

"Michael's experience and expertise mean that he is the right person to lead as chairperson in facing these challenges and I look forward to working with him over the coming months."

Tutty replaces Tom Reeves, who had served in that role since the Commission's establishment.
