Two stabbed in overnight violence in North

Two men were stabbed in Derry and Portadown during overnight violence.

Three people were arrested after a person was knifed in the neck during a late night row in Portadown, Co Armagh.

The victim, 23, intervened in an altercation involving a friend in Thomas Street shortly before 2am when he was attacked.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Police detained three suspects aged 27, 28 and 34.

Meanwhile, in Shantallow, Derry, a man, 26, was stabbed several times in the body shortly after 1am. He is in a stable condition in hospital following the incident in Drumleck Drive.

In Antrim, a dispute at a licensed premises in the High Street left a 24-year-old man with cuts and bruising to his face. He was attacked with a broken bottle and received stitches in hospital.
