Seven rescued from Cork fire
Seven people have been rescued from a fire at a block of flats in Cork city.
The blaze broke out on the ground floor of the building on Shandon Street at around 4.30am this morning.
Five units of the fire brigade were called in, and used ladders to reach two residents on the top floor of the three storey building.
The other five were rescued from the ground floor.
The seven people - who are all Irish and in their 30s - are now being treated for smoke inhalation.
Gardaà are now examining the scene to establish the cause of the blaze.
