Surfers rescued off Wicklow coast

Four people have been rescued from the sea off the coast of Wicklow today.

Four people have been rescued from the sea off the coast of Wicklow today.

They were surfing near Wicklow Head when they got into difficulty.

The alarm was raised shortly after midday and the Wicklow lifeboat was dispatched to the scene.

All four have been brought back to shore - two of them have been transferred to hospital, one of them is suffering from severe hypothermia.

The other two are uninjured.
