Odlums closure to cost 26 jobs in Kildare
Twenty-six jobs are to go in Co Kildare with the closure of the Odlums milling and packaging plant in Sallins.
Union officials have been told that the packaging operation will close within six months while the milling will cease within a year and a half.
SIPTU has blamed the closures on the decision by Odlums owners, Origin Enterprises, to sell off its McCanns cereal brand name in the United States and has been told by the company that the decision was made because of the weakening dollar.
