Gardaí release three held in connection with Kilmartin murder

Gardaí have release the three people arrested earlier this week in connection with the murder of Marie Kilmartin in Co Laois 15 years ago.

The two men and a woman were detained in the Portlaoise area on Monday, but were freed without charge overnight pending instructions from the DPP.

Ms Kilmartin, a 35-year-old mother of one, disappeared in Portlaoise in December 1993.

Her body was found in a bog drain near the Laois-Offaly border six months later.
