Initiatives aim to reduce accidents on farms
Two initiatives have been launched today to reduce the number of accidents on Irish farms.
A training programme will begin next month to teach farmers about safety.
A competition for children is also being arranged in more than 140 primary schools in Kilkenny, Carlow and Tipperary to help design a new farm safety poster campaign.
Fifteen people have died in farm accidents so far this year, bringing to 150 the number of people killed on Irish farms since the start of the decade.
