One third of Irish adults have dieted in the last year.

A survey has found that women who are dieting count calories while men focus on the fat content of food.

The study, commissioned by Kellogg’s Special K and conducted by Lansdowne Market Research, has revealed that men and women have different approaches when it comes to managing their shape.

Men are motivated to diet for health reasons, while women are motivated by the likes of special occasions or holidays.
