Man remanded in connection with teenager's shooting

A man has been remanded in custody charged in connection with the shooting of a teenage girl in Waterford last week.

Patrick Stokes (aged 27) from Ardmore Park in Ballybeg appeared before Waterford District Court earlier today.

He has been charged with assault causing harm to 16-year-old Bridget Delaney at Bilberry halting site, and has been remanded to appear in court again next month.

The shooting is believed to be connected to an ongoing Traveller feud in the city.
