Man in serious condition following Cork road accident

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was hit by two cars while walking on the Airport Road in Cork.

The incident happened at around 6.30am this morning.

The 26-year-old Lithuanian man was walking in the middle of the road when he was hit by cars travelling in opposite directions.

He was rushed to Cork University Hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.

The road has been closed to allow a forensic crash examiner to inspect the scene.

Investigating gardaí have spoken to the drivers of the two cars involved.
