Call to cut civil-service wage bill
One of Dublin’s most senior business chiefs today called for the civil service wage bill to be cut by a fifth.
With unions and employers at loggerheads over a new pay deal, Tom Coffey, chief executive of Dublin City Business Association, claimed government departments were ineffective and plagued by deadwood.
