Man charged after shooting in Waterford

A 27-year-old man has been remanded in custody in connection with the shooting of a teenage girl in Waterford earlier this week.

Patrick Stokes of Ardmore Park, Ballybeg was charged at a special sitting of Waterford District Court yesterday with assault causing harm.

Stokes who was arrested on Wednesday also appeared on firearms charges.

He was granted free legal aid to appear again before Waterford District Court next Thursday.

16-year-old Bridget Delaney was shot at a halting site in Bilberry on Monday night last.
