City Channel wins licence to broadcast in south

Television operator City Channel has won a licence to broadcast in the south of the country.

It will begin transmitting 24-hour local programming to Cork, Limerick, and parts of Kerry, Waterford, Clare and south Tipperary in November.

Included in the new station's programmes will be an evening show called 'South Tonight' presented by local celebrities.
