ECJ due to rule on Ireland’s failure to treat waste water

The European Court of Justice is due to rule this morning in the case of Ireland's failure to meet its obligations when it comes to waste water treatment.

The European Commission says the Government has failed to ensure that the waste water from a number of urban areas is subjected to secondary treatment before it enters collecting systems.
