Police in the North were tonight trying to identify the body of a man pulled from the River Lagan.

Police in the North were tonight trying to identify the body of a man pulled from the River Lagan.

The body was discovered after police and coastguards were alerted to reports of a man jumping into the the river at Queen’s Quay near the centre of Belfast.

A search around the Lagan Weir resulted in the recovery of a body.

A police spokeswoman said they were not treating the death as suspicious and were trying to identify the man.
