Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheal Martin has said that there have been “no conclusions” in terms of Ireland opting out of any common defence policy contained in the Lisbon Treaty.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheal Martin has said that there have been “no conclusions” in terms of Ireland opting out of any common defence policy contained in the Lisbon Treaty.

Speaking today on RTE Radio, Minister Martin said: “It’s a bit early yet to surface a possible proposal, like opting out of a common defence policy.”
