Man held in connection with Belfast airport cocaine seizure
Cocaine with an estimated street value of £20,000 (€24,652) was seized at Belfast International Airport, officials said today.
The drugs were seized when a man on a flight from Amsterdam was stopped by customs officers.
A total of 46 small packages were seized, containing what is estimated to be around 500 grammes of cocaine.
A Nigerian man travelling on an Irish passport was charged last night with attempting to smuggle cocaine into the UK and will appear before Antrim Magistrates Court later today.
Officers from the UK Border Agency (UKBA) arrested David Ugochukwu (aged 30) from Blarney Street in Cork in connection with the seizure of Class A drugs at Belfast International Airport last Wednesday.
