Two women rescued from mud flats in Belfast
Two women had to be rescued early this morning after falling into mud flats at the edge of the River Lagan in Belfast.
The pair, both in their 30s, slipped into waist-deep mud in the early hours of the morning.
A passer-by raised the alarm when he heard their cries for help.
The Fire and Rescue Service says one of the women was semi-conscious and the other was suffering from shock and exposure.
