Two dead after road accidents last night
A 25-year-old man has died in a two-vehicle collision in Co Limerick.
The accident involving a car and jeep happened about two miles outside Ballingarry on the main road to Newcastle West at around 9.20pm last night
Another four, including a young child, have been taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick for treatment.
Details of their injuries are not yet known.
Meanwhile an elderly pedestrian was fatally injured after he was struck by a vehicle in Co Cavan yesterday.
The 91-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a lorry as he crossed a road in Ballyjamesduff.
The accident happened on Granard Street in the town just before midday.
The man has been named as Harry Gaffney, of Gallonbane, Ballyjamesduff.
