Offaly prepares for World Record attempt
A World Record attempt for the largest Irish music session will take place in Tullamore this evening.
It is part of Fleadh Ceoil na hÉireann which is underway in the Co Offaly town.
Around 250,000 people are expected in Tullamore for the festival and the attempt will begin with a parade from Lloyd Town Park at 7.30pm.
Organiser James Hogan has said they intend to smash their own achievements this year.
"Last year we set a new record of 2,745 musicians playing non-stop for 45 minutes. We are aiming to set a new record of 3,000 this year," he said.
