Festival of World Cultures begins today

Ireland's biggest festival of world music gets underway later today in south Co Dublin.

Eight hundred musicians and artists are due to perform over the next three days at the Festival of World Cultures in Dun Laoghaire.

The performers have travelled from countries around the world, including Algeria, Brazil, China, Ethiopia and Mali.

Some 70% of events at the festival will be free to the public.
