One-third of workers worried about losing job

A new survey has reportedly found that almost one-third of Irish workers fear they could lose their jobs due to the economic downturn.

Reports this morning say one-fifth of respondents to the Ipsos-MORI poll believe their personal financial circumstances will worsen in the coming year.

Some 28% of respondents were worried about the possibility of redundancy, compared to just 13% in a similar poll a year previously.

The level of concern was also higher outside Dublin, with 35% worried about the future of their jobs, compared to just 14% in the capital.
