Man to face court on checkpoint charges

A man was tonight charged with attempted murder after a police officer manning a vehicle checkpoint had to jump clear of a car.

The 19-year-old is accused of failing to stop for police shortly after 1.45am this morning on the Doagh Road, Ballyclare, in Co Antrim.
