Bomb components found under bridge in Offaly

Gardaí are investigating the discovery of bomb components underneath a bridge in Co Offaly last night.

The objects were found in Tullamore just after 7.30pm.

Army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene and declared the area safe later in the night.

The Defence Forces say the components were probably left under the bridge to be moved to another location at a later date.
