Future of Iralco plant set to be decided today

The future of the Iralco plant in Co Westmeath is expected to be decided later today.

The 400-strong workforce at the car components plant was presented with a survival plan over the weekend which would see the majority of jobs retained.

The Galway-based company CF Tooling is seeking between 60 and 80 redundancies as part of a proposed buyout of the factory.

Workers have been voting on the proposals for the past few days and the result is expected to be known today.
