Iralco workers to learn fate of plant

Four hundred workers at the Iralco plant in County Westmeath will learn their fate today.

Employees are meeting with the company's potential buyers in Mullingar this morning.

Over 400 workers at the Collinstown plant are meeting with prospective buyers, CF Tooling this morning to discuss the future of the company.

The Galway-based firm announced last week that they had agreed to take over Iralco, which manufactures car parts.

The Westmeath-based company went into liquidation in April, despite having a number of orders to fulfil.

The conditional takeover by CF Tooling is based on reducing costs and this means voluntary redundancies may be sought.

The amount of jobs affected will be known later this morning following the meeting at the Downs Clubhouse in Mullingar.
