Man killed in Laois crash

A man has been killed in a road crash in Co Laois.

The collision, between a car and a truck, happened at5.20pm on the main Portlaoise to Mountmellick road, about four miles from Portlaoise town.

The driver of the car was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been taken to Mountmellick Hospital.
