Economist predicts cut in interest rates next year

A leading Irish economist is predicting that the European Central Bank will reduce interest rates by up to three-quarters of one percentage point during the course of next year.

Bloxham Stockbrokers' chief economist, Alan McQuaid, says he expects the cuts to take place as inflation eases across the euro-zone.
