The Consumers Association is urging motorists to shop around for the cheapest petrol prices as international oil prices start to drop.

The cost of a barrel of oil has fallen to $118 on the international markets, the lowest price for four months.

This has brought the average price of a litre of petrol in Ireland down to €1.29, while diesel prices have dropped to €1.39-a-litre.
