Transport Minister Noel Dempsey has formally opened Ireland's latest train station at Park West-Cherry Orchard in west Dublin.

Transport Minister Noel Dempsey has formally opened Ireland's latest train station at Park West-Cherry Orchard in west Dublin.

The station is part of the Kildare commuter line and will allow people travel from Park West to Heuston station in just six minutes.

Speaking at the official opening today, Mr Dempsey said the Government was committed to Transport 21 and major infrastructure projects would not be hit by the downturn in the public finances.
