Garda recruits graduate

Almost 300 new garda recruits will graduate from Templemore later today.

Defence Minister Willie O’Dea will attend the ceremony at the Garda College in Co Tipperary.

The Commissioner’s Medal, Gary Sheehan Memorial Medal and Templemore Town Council Medal will be handed out to three young officers for outstanding achievements during their training.

The 286 graduating gardaí include 85 females and 201 men.
