Man charged in connection with €800,000 cocaine find
A 37-year-old man was tonight charged in connection with the seizure of €800,000 worth of cocaine and mixing agent.
A firearm was also discovered in the raid at a farm and outhouses on the outskirts of Kilnaleck, Co Cavan on Friday evening.
The man, who is being detained at Drogheda under Section Two of the Drug Trafficking Act, will appear before Carrickmacross District Court tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to three men arrested after a major cannabis factory was discovered.
Around 650 plants worth an estimated €200,000 were seized during a raid on the premises at Greenogue, Newcastle in Co Dublin yesterday.
A further 40 plants were seized at the Navan site, along with various drugs paraphernalia bringing the total estimated value of seizures to approximately €250,000.
Gardaí said the men, who were aged 24, 26 and 52, were arrested at the scene but later released without charge.
