New road set to reduce Cork to Dublin travel time

The new Cashel to Mitchelstown road has been officially opened ahead of schedule today.

It is part of the M8 Cork to Dublin project and it is expected that the 37 km stretch will take about 10,000 vehicles off the N8.

The entire M8 project is set to see the journey time from Cork to Dublin significantly reduced.
