LRC to oversee talks on HSE job-freeze dispute
Officials from the HSE and the IMPACT trade union are due to hold talks with the Labour Relations Commission in an effort to resolve a dispute over job cuts in the health service.
IMPACT members have been refusing to work overtime for several months in protest at a recruitment embargo imposed by the HSE last year.
They have also been refusing to cover posts left vacant as a result of the jobs freeze
IMPACT says around 2,700 jobs have been left unfilled since the HSE imposed the measure and services around the country are being undermined as a result.
The HSE, meanwhile, denies that services are being cut and says it has to operate within the budget allocated by the Government.
