Prisoner still on run after escape from garda station

Gardaí are searching for a man who escaped from a garda station in Dublin during the weekend.

The man was arrested in connection with a robbery on the Malahide Road last Friday and two firearms were seized during a subsequent search of his home.

He was taken to Santry garda station, but managed to escape through the back exit and over a wall on Saturday.

Gardaí are appealing for information about his whereabouts and have circulated descriptions of him to all garda stations around the country.

An investigation is also underway into security at Santry garda station.
