Bishops urged to show true remorse for sex abuse
The One-in-Four organisation is calling on Catholic bishops and priests to show true remorse for clerical child sex abuse.
The call follows Pope Benedict XVI's apology to victims in Australia during his visit to the country for the Church's World Youth Day festivities.
One-in-Four has welcomed the strong apology, but says it must be backed up by actions on the ground from individual dioceses and religious orders.
Spokesperson Deirdre Fitzpatrick says: "The difficulty in terms of these apologies is when they are not demonstrated."
