Irish politicians to conduct volunteer work overseas
A group of Irish politicians is preparing to spend part of the summer on volunteer work overseas.
TDs Chris Andrews, Leo Varadkar and Sean Sherlock, as well as senators Mark Daly and Dominic Hannigan, are among those who will be visiting some of the poorest countries in the world.
They will be working with VSO Ireland, which sends skilled volunteers to developing countries across the world.
The organisation says the Irish politicians will be teaching local people how to organise political campaigns and lobby for change.
