Three held after landmine attack on police

Detectives investigating the attempted murder of two police officers in a landmine attack near the Border arrested three men today.

The Continuity IRA admitted they tried to detonate the landmine as a police patrol passed on the Rellan Road near Roslea, Co Fermanagh, on June 14.

Two police officers escaped with minor injuries after the device planted by the dissident republican group only partially exploded.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said they arrested three men in the Roslea area this morning.

The men are being held at the PSNI serious crime suite in Antrim station where they are said to be helping police with their inquiries.
