Cowen plays down prospect of amnesty for illegal Irish

The Taoiseach Brian Cowen says there is no political will in the United States to grant an amnesty to Irish people living and working illegally in the country.

Mr Cowen was speaking in New York last night as he continues his three-day visit to the US.
