Gardaí continue inquiries into Cork death

Gardaí say they are continuing to pursue a number of lines of inquiry in relation to the death of a man in Cork on Saturday.

The 69-year-old's body was found by his wife at lunchtime on Saturday in the upstairs bedroom of a house on St Francis Avenue on College Road.

The results of a post mortem on his body are being withheld by gardaí for operational reasons, but he is believed to have been stabbed a number of times.
