A man in his 20s is in a serious condition in hospital after he was pulled from the River Liffey in Dublin.

A man in his 20s is in a serious condition in hospital after he was pulled from the River Liffey in Dublin.

Two Gardaí rescued the man from the river at Butt Bridge, on Eden Quay.

Attempts were made to resuscitate him at the scene.

The man, who is a foreign national, was taken to the Mater Hospital where his condition is described as serious.
