Man arrested in connection with Dublin shooting

Gardaí have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the shooting of another man in Dublin last night.

The arrest was made in the Coolock area this morning.

The man is being held under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act at Coolock garda station.

The victim of the attack was shot in the neck by a lone gunman as he sat in a car with his young son at around 7pm last night, at Buttercup Park in Darndale.

Several shots were fired through the window of the car during the attack. The victim's son escaped injury however.

The man, who is in his 20s, was rushed to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
