The victim was the passenger in one of two cars attempting to evade officers in west Belfast in the early hours.

The blue Honda Civic crashed when it left the Glenside Road in Hannastown at around 1.50am. The 25-year-old driver was arrested.

Only minutes beforehand, one of the vehicles involved rammed a police car on the nearby Rock Road.
