The sister of assassinated US president, John F Kennedy is to unveil a statue of her brother in Co Wexford today.

The sister of assassinated US president, John F Kennedy is to unveil a statue of her brother in Co Wexford today.

Jean Kennedy Smith is marking the 45th anniversary of JFK's visit to Ireland.

The bronze sculpture, which is the first statue in Ireland dedicated to President Kennedy, will be unveiled on the quayside in New Ross this afternoon.

Ms Kennedy Smith served as US Ambassador to Ireland in the 1990s.
