16% of people failing to recycle old electronic goods

A significant number of people are still throwing old electronic goods in bins, skips or dumps, according to figures released today by the group overseeing EU recycling regulations.

WEEE Ireland says 16% of people are not recycling electronic goods.

It also says only two thirds of people know that old or broken electrical goods can be returned to retailers for recycling or deposited free of charge at recycling centres.
