Attackers of Belfast man 'had strong southern accents'

A gang of men from the Republic is believed to be responsible for an attack on a 97-year-old man in his west Belfast home over the weekend.

The victim, John Dunne, suffered a cut to his arm when he confronted four men who broke in and ransacked his home in Andersonstown Park South on Saturday afternoon.

He subsequently suffered a heart attack in hospital.

Mr Dunne's son says the gang responsibility all had strong southern accents.
