Fish authority recommends monkfish catch increase

The Sea Fisheries Authority is recommending increased catches of monkfish.

In a statement this morning, the authority also acknowledged the need for better relations with fishermen.

Marine Spokesperson for the Labour Party Senator Michael McCarthy says this movement of fishing quotas is welcome news.

The Senator says many fishermen have been brought to the brink of bankruptcy with restrictive quotas and the escalating price of fuel.
